A New Push for Greener Travel

Wallbox and PowerGo have formed a partnership to install electric vehicle (EV) chargers at hotels across the Netherlands, giving travellers a more convenient and eco-friendly way to charge their vehicles while staying overnight.

The Powerhouse Collaboration

Announced on 19 June 2025, the project brings together Wallbox’s smart charging tech and PowerGo’s solar-powered charging network. Together, they’re supporting the rise in demand for sustainable travel by launching a network of chargers at Essendi Group hotels.

Key Installations Already Live

  • Mercure Amsterdam City has six 22 kW AC chargers already in use, with two 150 kW DC fast chargers coming soon.
  • Novotel Amsterdam City went live in June, featuring two 150 kW DC and six 22 kW AC chargers.

More Hotels Coming Soon

Further installations are expected across North and South Holland, including:

  • Ibis and Ibis Budget Amsterdam Airport
  • Novotel Rotterdam Brainpark

Chargers Built for Every Need

Wallbox is providing two charger types:

  • Em4: A tough AC charger perfect for busy hotel areas.
  • Supernova: A fast and efficient DC charger for quick top-ups.

Powered by the Sun

PowerGo, part of solar energy company PowerField, already manages over 1,700 public EV charging points in seven countries. Their chargers are solar-powered, offering a clean, green experience for drivers.

Driving Toward a Cleaner Future

Eduard Castañeda, Wallbox’s co-founder, says the goal is a reliable, easy-to-use charging experience. PowerGo’s Sander Bos adds that their joint effort will make EV travel more accessible while supporting sustainability.
