InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, the world’s first and largest luxury hotel brand and part of IHG’s luxury and lifestyle collection, has officially opened its first property in Brisbane. This marks a major milestone for both the brand and the city, bringing international elegance to the heart of Queensland’s fast-growing capital.
Situated on Elizabeth Street, right in the city centre and within Brisbane’s premium Queen Street Mall shopping precinct, the 319-room InterContinental Brisbane is designed to offer guests memorable, culturally rich stays with warm service and stylish comfort.
A New Era for the Building and the City
The hotel will begin a two-year transformation in 2026, aiming to honour the iconic architecture of Harry Seidler while embracing innovation and local culture. This redevelopment is part of a wider plan by developer ISPT to turn the Elizabeth Street area into a vibrant destination for tourism, dining, and entertainment.
What Guests Can Expect
Spanning 25 floors, the hotel features:
- Luxurious rooms and suites with city views
- Latitude 27 Bar & Kitchen, serving as an all-day dining spot and relaxed lobby bar
- An outdoor lap pool, well-equipped gym
