IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced its first-ever InterContinental property in Ecuador, bringing luxury and world-class hospitality to Guayaquil. Developed in partnership with BPO Consulting, the InterContinental Guayaquil is set to open in 2027 in the exclusive Samborondón district.
A New Luxury Destination in Ecuador
The hotel will feature 101 elegantly designed rooms, including 11 suites and a Presidential Suite, blending modern comforts with local inspirations. Guests can look forward to:
- A specialty restaurant offering skyline views
- A poolside lounge for relaxed gatherings
- A resort-style rooftop pool, spa, and fitness centre
- 610 square meters of event space, including a 300-person ballroom
- A Club InterContinental lounge for premium services
Strengthening Global Luxury Hospitality

BPO Consulting, developers of multiple IHG properties, expressed pride in this new venture, marking a milestone in their 15-year partnership with IHG. They highlighted their commitment to elevating luxury hospitality standards in Ecuador.

Guayaquil, Ecuador’s largest city and economic hub, is known for its beautiful culture and picture perfect waterfront. The hotel’s location in Samborondón offers closeness to upscale shopping, fine dining, corporate offices, and medical centres, with convenient access to José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport.
