Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed a public-private partnership with the Tripura Government to restore the Taj Pushpabanta Palace in Agartala. This historic heritage property, originally built in 1917 as a royal retreat, will undergo refurbishment and expansion, with 100 rooms housed in a newly designed structure that honours its palace architecture.
Strengthening IHCL’s Presence in the North East
With this signing, IHCL increases its North East footprint to 14 hotels, reinforcing its commitment to developing tourist circuits in the region. Under its Accelerate 2030 strategy, IHCL aims to grow to 30 hotels by 2030, backed by a ₹2,500 crore investment over the next three years.
IHCL’s Multi-Brand Presence in the Region
IHCL currently operates nine hotels across major cities, including:
- Vivanta & Ginger in Guwahati
- Taj Guras Kutir Resort & Spa, Ginger, and Tree of Life in Gangtok
- Vivanta hotels in Shillong and Tawang
- Ginger in Agartala
- Vivanta in Pakyong
Upcoming hotels are set to open in Agartala, Itanagar, Guwahati, Jorhat, and Dibrugarh, further strengthening IHCL’s presence in the region.
