The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality group, has announced a strategic partnership with Madison, the hospitality platform of Terminus Group and JV Ventures, to develop 10 new Ginger hotels across South India. The agreement marks a major milestone in IHCL’s expansion strategy in the midscale segment, adding over 1,000 keys through a capital-light operating lease model.
Strengthening Ginger’s Footprint in Key Growth Markets
The new hotels will be a mix of greenfield and brownfield projects, strategically located in industrial and spiritual hubs across southern states. The partnership kicks off with the signing of a 75-key Ginger hotel in Genome Valley, Telangana, a prominent R&D corridor. This will be the first branded hotel in the area, offering modern business facilities, social spaces, and Ginger’s signature all-day dining restaurant, Qmin.
“Ginger represents IHCL’s strategic response to the growing opportunity in India’s midscale segment,” said Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Real Estate & Development, IHCL. “The brand’s relevance across metros, state capitals, industrial townships, and leisure destinations makes it ideal for this expansion.”
Madison’s Investment and Vision
Madison, established in 2023 as a joint venture between Terminus Group and JV Ventures, will invest approximately ₹500 crore in the construction of the ten hotels over the next three years. The collaboration aims to deliver high-quality hospitality infrastructure in underserved markets, supporting regional development and domestic tourism.
“This marks the first time such a comprehensive hospitality offering is available within Genome Valley’s industrial cluster,” said S.P. Reddy, Co-Founder of Madison. “We’re proud to partner with IHCL to roll out ten Ginger hotels that will serve both business and spiritual travellers,” added Jasmeet Chhabra, Co-Founder of JV Ventures.
A Strategic Push for Ginger’s Growth
The signing reinforces IHCL’s commitment to scaling Ginger as a key growth driver. With this partnership, Ginger’s portfolio is set to cross 250 properties, with ambitions to reach 300 hotels by 2030, contributing significantly to IHCL’s revenue mix.
