San Francisco-headquartered technology startup Dextr AI has raised $6.7 million in seed funding to scale its agentic software platform and autonomous AI workforce designed specifically for hotel operations. Led by venture capital firm Elevation Capital, the oversubscribed round will accelerate product development, expand engineering teams, and drive commercial growth across North America, Europe, and India.

Founded in July 2025 by Chief Executive Officer Sajid Shariff and Chief Technology Officer Scott Arnold, Dextr AI develops an enterprise agentic infrastructure platform aimed at automating high-friction front-desk and back-office hotel workflows.

Autonomous Agent Fleet Targets Core Hotel Workflows

Moving beyond simple rule-based chatbots, Dextr AI deploys specialised, domain-specific autonomous AI agents built to handle multi-step operational tasks:

  • Daisy: A voice-based reservation agent capable of processing bookings, room modifications, and upselling in over 90 languages while executing live phone payment transactions.
  • Alfred: A guest-experience agent managing digital check-ins, guest requests, and real-time maintenance dispatches.
  • Manny: An internal operational agent that automates workforce shift scheduling, task allocation, and overtime tracking.
  • Cosmo: A direct-booking and digital marketing agent designed to optimise direct guest acquisition and reduce reliance on third-party online travel agencies (OTAs).

Alongside its agent fleet, Dextr AI unveiled Doss Gen 1, a natural-language command interface that allows hotel staff to manage and monitor their AI workforce via voice or text. Built specifically for enterprise operators, Doss includes role-based access permissions, full audit logging, and portfolio-wide operational consistency.

Addressing Hospitality Labour Shortages

The capital injection comes as global hotel operators face persistent labour shortages and rising operational overheads. By delegating routine guest inquiries, booking modifications, and administrative scheduling to autonomous agents, hotel operators can improve response times while freeing up human staff for high-touch guest interactions.

Currently processing over one million monthly interactions and handling tens of millions of dollars in voice reservation payments, Dextr AI plans to utilise the fresh capital to expand its system integrations with major Property Management Systems (PMS) and global distribution channels.

Executive Insights

“Hospitality operators are squeezed between rising labour costs and escalating guest expectations. Generic AI tools and basic chatbots simply cannot handle complex hotel workflows. With Dextr AI, we are deploying a specialised, reliable AI workforce that integrates directly into existing hotel systems, allowing staff to focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.”
