Aleph Hospitality will begin managing 26 Onomo-branded hotels in 14 African countries starting from 1st September. This transition marks the largest hotel management deal in African hospitality to date.
A Strategic Shift by African Hotel Development
The announcement was made at the FHS Africa conference in Cape Town by African Hotel Development, the owner of the Onomo brand. As part of a wider restructuring, the company is choosing to focus on brand building and asset management rather than day-to-day operations.
Julien Renaud, CEO of African Hotel Development, stated, “The direction we are taking with Aleph Hospitality reflects our strategic decision to separate operations from ownership and brand development. This will allow us to retain full control over the future of Onomo, and support faster growth of our premium offerings, Onomo Allure and Onomo Collection.”
Aleph Hospitality’s Rapid Expansion
Dubai-based Aleph Hospitality’s new role will double its current hotel portfolio. With this addition, the company is on track to meet its target of managing 50 hotels by the end of 2025.
To support this expansion, Aleph plans to open four new regional offices and establish clustered management hubs in strategic markets, including Kenya and Morocco. These efforts aim to improve efficiency, foster local leadership, and create consistency across operations.
Driving Value and Enhancing Local Presence
Bani Haddad, Aleph Hospitality’s Founder and Managing Director, expressed enthusiasm about the deal: “We are proud to be selected as the operator of Onomo Hotels. This partnership lets us scale our operations and deliver exceptional value to all stakeholders guests, owners, employees, and partners.”
He added that Africa has always played a central role in Aleph’s growth strategy. “We’re excited to deepen our roots across the continent and bring our unique management style to more African communities,” Haddad said.
