Bio

Rudi Hygino is a dynamic hospitality leader with a diverse background, including service in the Portuguese Army, where he developed the leadership, teamwork and discipline skills that have defined his career. A natural-born leader, Rudi is known for his ability to inspire and motivate teams, with people drawn to his approachable yet decisive style. His leadership fosters high-performing, collaborative environments, where operational excellence and team success go hand-in-hand.

Most recently, Rudi served as Hotel Manager at University Arms, Cambridge, where he spearheaded a transformation of the F&B division and guest experience. Under his leadership, F&B guest satisfaction rose by 18% and staff retention soared by 60%. He also led the launch of a new F&B outlet and introduced a luxury amenities program, all while creating robust training and leadership development plans.

Before this, he was Hospitality Leader at Restoration Hardware, overseeing the opening and rebranding of multiple F&B outlets in San Francisco, New York, and Oxford. His strategic vision brought to life luxury dining concepts while also implementing leadership recruitment and comprehensive training plans that ensured success across locations.

Earlier in his career, Rudi held key roles such as Managing Director at Les 110 de Taillevent, where he helped elevate the restaurant’s offering, earning 3 AA Rosettes and multiple prestigious wine awards. At Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire, he oversaw the main F&B outlets and the F&B Reservations Team, increasing profitability, guest satisfaction, and staff retention and before that he was Restaurant Manager at Galvin Restaurants and Assistant Restaurant Manager at The Savoy, where he was responsible for training and development of the team and ensuring guest satisfaction, writing and setting the foundations of the service that exceeded expectations at one of the most iconic venues in the world.
