Marriott International has announced an exciting agreement with Solana PA, S.R.L. to introduce the prestigious St. Regis Hotels & Resorts brand to Costa Rica. This landmark project will span 20 hectares in the Gulf of Papagayo, one of the country’s most sorted locations. Construction is set to begin in July 2025, with a much awaited opening in early 2027.

Designed with the surrounding ocean and local culture in mind, the upcoming St. Regis Papagayo will feature:
- 120 hotel rooms and 143 residential units, blending opulence with coastal charm
- Six distinctive dining venues, including The Cliff with Japanese and Costa Rican influences, and the signature St. Regis Bar & Speakeasy
- A luxury spa, multiple pools, a private beach club, and refined meeting spaces for elegant gatherings

Situated between Panama Bay and Culebra Bay, the resort boasts 634 yards of serene beachfront and spectacular views of the Gulf of Papagayo. Its proximity to Liberia International Airport, just 25 minutes away, ensures convenient access for travellers seeking a seamless luxury escape.
Expert Design and Innovation
The project will be brought to life by Sordo Madaleno, a renowned Mexican architectural firm currently engaged in several luxury Marriott developments. Leading interior design will be Gensler Mexico City, while Maat Handasa will craft the landscape architecture.
Additionally, TalentChef and Ancestral Handmade Hotels will contribute to the resort’s food, beverage, and wellness offerings, promising an unmatched experience for visitors.
