Hyatt Hotels Corporation has officially unveiled the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, marking the luxury brand’s long-awaited debut in Malaysia. Located between levels 75 and 114 of Merdeka 118, the tallest skyscraper in Asia Pacific, the hotel introduces a new benchmark for elevated luxury in Southeast Asia.
This opening also celebrates a milestone for the Park Hyatt brand, which now spans 50 properties globally, and signals Hyatt’s strategic expansion in Kuala Lumpur, with three new properties launching within the year.
A Refined Home in the Sky
Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur features 252 guestrooms and suites, each designed as a private sanctuary with floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the city. The suites are thoughtfully appointed with expansive living areas, walk-in dressing rooms, personal study spaces, and in select accommodations, private dining rooms overlooking the skyline. Bathrooms include full soaking tubs, rain showers with aromatherapy steamers, and double vanities creating a seamless blend of comfort and sophistication.
Design Rooted in Malaysian Heritage
The interiors, crafted by G.A Group, draw inspiration from the traditional Malay Kampung house, blending modern elegance with cultural authenticity. Guests are welcomed by sculptural centrepieces and artisanal detailing, including perforated brass screens etched with batik canting patterns, natural timber accents, and woven textures reminiscent of Peranakan craftsmanship.
The hotel also houses a curated art collection by Artlink, featuring works by world-renowned artists that celebrate Malaysia’s natural forms and vibrant palette.
Cultural Immersion in the Merdeka 118 Precinct
Guests can embark on a guided experience through the Merdeka 118 Precinct, with exclusive access to historical and cultural landmarks such as Stadium Merdeka, where Malaysia’s independence was declared, the Al-Sultan Abdullah Mosque, and the Merdeka Textile Museum. This immersive journey offers insight into the architectural and cultural narratives that define Malaysia’s heritage.
“Merdeka 118 will be a catalyst to uplift communities and enhance Kuala Lumpur’s long-term vibrancy,” said YM Raja Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Arshad Raja Tun Uda, Group Chairman of PNB. “We are excited to welcome the Park Hyatt brand to Malaysia as part of this landmark project which will unlock potential and build pride.”
Culinary Excellence with a Malaysian Soul
Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur introduces three distinct dining venues:
- Merdeka Grill: A modern grill concept featuring premium cuts, sustainable seafood, and locally sourced produce. Signature dishes include cedar-wood roasted salmon and Chateaubriand carved tableside, paired with curated beverages.
- Park Lounge: An all-day dining destination celebrating Malaysia’s lost recipes and heritage flavours. Highlights include Botok Ikan, Gulai Taucu Minang, and a rare afternoon tea experience curated by Executive Pastry Chef Holger Deh, featuring a dessert trolley and house-made vegan selections.
- Cacao Mixology & Chocolate: Malaysia’s first chocolate-themed bar, offering chocolate-infused cocktails, small-batch spirits, and handcrafted confections. Guests can enjoy skyline views accompanied by live Bossa nova music and participate in private chocolate workshops led by Pastry World Champions.
Wellness at New Heights
Located on the 99th floor, the hotel’s wellness sanctuary includes a yoga movement studio, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, private treatment suites, a Himalayan Salt Alcove, and a 30-meter infinity pool overlooking the city. The spa is one of the few in Southeast Asia to offer circadian therapies, designed to harmonise guests’ energy cycles for optimal rest and rejuvenation.
“We are proud to be part of the new Merdeka 118 precinct, with its rich historical significance and proximity to Petaling Street Chinatown,” said Herman Kemp, General Manager of Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. “From locally inspired art and design to purposeful wellness and elevated culinary concepts rooted in Malaysian culture, our guests will discover enriching experiences from this unique vantage point and through the Park Hyatt brand’s distinctive take on understated luxury.”
