IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a strategic partnership with Jadeer Group to launch Egypt’s first Hotel Indigo, set to open in 2031. The 120-room property will be part of the Red, mixed-use development in New Cairo, marking a significant expansion of IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in Northern Africa.
Located on North 90 Street, one of New Cairo’s most prominent districts, the hotel will be ideally positioned near the New Administrative Capital and the American University in Cairo. The area is rapidly emerging as a hub for business, education, and leisure, making it a prime location for IHG’s boutique lifestyle brand.
Hotel Indigo is known for its locally inspired design and culturally rich guest experiences. Each property reflects the character of its neighbourhood, offering unique interiors and dining that celebrate the surrounding community. The New Cairo hotel will embrace this ethos, blending the city’s heritage with its contemporary spirit.
“Egypt is a priority market for IHG, and we are excited to partner with Jadeer Group for this new venture,” said Haitham Mattar, Managing Director for India, Middle East & Africa at IHG Hotels & Resorts. “This signing reinforces our commitment to Egypt’s National Tourism Strategy and to supporting the growth of Cairo’s hospitality sector.”
Mohamed Abo ElKheir, CEO of Jadeer Group, added, “Our collaboration with IHG marks a major milestone for our Red development. Hotel Indigo’s focus on lifestyle and culture aligns perfectly with our vision for New Cairo. We believe this hotel will attract both local and international travellers seeking authentic experiences.”
Jadeer Group, a key player in Egypt’s real estate market with over 19 years of experience, is leading the Red project, which will combine residential, retail, and hospitality offerings.
IHG currently operates eight hotels in Egypt under the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Staybridge Suites brands. With 22 additional properties in the pipeline, the company continues to invest in Egypt’s growing tourism and hospitality industry.
