Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced plans to introduce its first Hyatt Centric property in Osaka, Japan, with the opening of Hyatt Centric Namba Osaka slated for 2031. The hotel will anchor a major redevelopment project in the heart of the city’s vibrant Namba Station neighbourhood, one of Osaka’s most dynamic and well-connected districts.
The new-build hotel will be part of a 28-storey mixed-use complex, developed in partnership with Kanden Realty & Development Co., Ltd., Nankai Electric Railway Co., Ltd., and Osaka Metro Co., Ltd.. Directly connected to Namba Station, the development is set to become a key attraction in the area, offering seamless access to Osaka’s cultural and commercial hubs.
A Launchpad for Local Discovery
Hyatt Centric Namba Osaka will feature 267 guestrooms, a 15th-floor lobby with panoramic city views, and a rooftop bar on the 28th floor designed as a social hub for guests and locals alike. The hotel will also include a full-service restaurant, vibrant lounge, meeting and event spaces, and a fitness centre, delivering the brand’s signature full-service experience tailored to adventurous, urban travellers.
“Hyatt Centric is the perfect fit for Namba, one of Osaka’s most internationally recognised entertainment districts,” said Masahiko Sakamura, Vice President of Japan and Micronesia, Hyatt. “We are committed to delivering a hotel experience that reflects the high expectations of the brand and the energy of the city.”
Strengthening Osaka’s Global Appeal
The announcement comes as Osaka prepares to host Expo 2025 Osaka–Kansai, further elevating its status as a global tourism destination. Namba, known for its eclectic mix of tradition and innovation, is home to iconic landmarks such as Tsutenkaku Tower, Dotonbori, and Shinsaibashi, making it a natural fit for the Hyatt Centric brand.
“With its focus on local discovery, Hyatt Centric Namba Osaka will place guests in the heart of Osaka, seamlessly introducing them to the city’s rich culture,” said Emi Fukumoto, President of Kanden Realty & Development.
Expanding Hyatt Centric’s Footprint in Japan
Hyatt Centric Namba Osaka will join a growing portfolio of Hyatt Centric hotels in Japan, including Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo and Hyatt Centric Kanazawa, with Hyatt Centric Sapporo scheduled to open in 2026 near Odori Park.
The new Osaka property reflects Hyatt’s continued investment in Japan’s hospitality landscape and its commitment to creating immersive, locally inspired experiences for global travellers.
