A Proactive Response to Pandemic-Era Challenges
The partnership was born out of heightened air quality concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Houstonian’s facilities team, tasked with safeguarding high-traffic zones, conducted rigorous evaluations before selecting GPS Air’s ionization-based purification system for its proven efficacy, low maintenance, and operational simplicity.
Beginning in December 2020, 32 units were installed across hotel rooms, spa areas, fitness centres, and dining venues. Initial tests confirmed the system’s performance, prompting a full-scale rollout.

Notably, local medical professionals praised the initiative, and members frequently commented on the facility’s neutral scent, an indicator of exceptionally clean air despite hosting 2,000 daily visitors.
While formal metrics are still being assessed, anecdotal evidence suggests a marked improvement in perceived safety and comfort.
