GenoHotels, a leading business and conference hotel group in Germany, has partnered with global hospitality tech provider Shiji to implement the cloud-based Daylight Property Management System (PMS). The rollout begins in October 2025 across two locations near Cologne and Kassel. The move replaces GenoHotels’ legacy on-premise systems with Shiji’s secure, flexible, and guest-centric cloud platform. Known for its commitment to community, sustainability, and modern hospitality, GenoHotels sought a solution that could handle the complexity of its operations, which include extensive seminar and conference facilities, wellness amenities, and high-volume guest services.
From Legacy to Cloud: A Strategic Shift
This transition marks a significant upgrade from GenoHotels’ legacy on-premise systems to a secure, flexible, and guest-centric cloud platform. The move aligns with the group’s commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and modern hospitality. A standout feature influencing GenoHotels’ decision was Daylight PMS’s robust Meetings & Events (M&E) Module. This tool offers end-to-end event management capabilities, from booking and scheduling to billing and reporting, tailored to the group’s conference-heavy operations. The platform also supports multi-property management and includes a Single Guest Profile feature, allowing staff to deliver personalised service and recognise returning guests and event.
Meeting Complex Needs with Smart Technology
GenoHotels required a PMS that could handle the operational demands of its extensive seminar and conference facilities, wellness amenities, and high-volume guest services. Daylight PMS was selected for its intuitive interface, powerful integrations, and multi-property capabilities.
A key factor in the decision was Daylight PMS’s robust Meetings & Events (M&E) Module. This feature enables end-to-end event management, from booking and scheduling to billing and reporting, tailored to GenoHotels’ business-focused offerings. The Single Guest Profile functionality further enhances personalisation by consolidating guest history and preferences.
Security and Integration at the Forefront
“Daylight PMS has the flexibility and integration capabilities to provide GenoHotels’ guests with truly personalised service, all while maintaining the highest standards in data protection,” said Jan Mazur, Director of Sales PMS, Europe and Africa at Shiji. The platform passed GenoHotels’ comprehensive security checks, reinforcing Shiji’s reputation for compliance and innovation.
A Futureproof Foundation for Hospitality
Markus Maier, Managing Director at GenoHotels, emphasised the strategic importance of the upgrade: “Switching to Shiji’s Daylight PMS is a key step in our strategy to futureproof our operations. It allows us to serve guests more personally and efficiently, especially in our meetings and events business.” With the first go-live scheduled for October and the second in November 2025, GenoHotels is poised to deliver seamless, tech-enabled hospitality experiences. The partnership with Shiji sets a new benchmark for digital transformation in the European hospitality sector.
