Gaylord Hotels has expanded to the West Coast with the grand opening of Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center in Chula Vista, California. This marks the brand’s first property in California and its sixth overall, bringing a new landmark destination to the region.

Developed in partnership with RIDA Development Corporation, this $1.3 billion resort features 1,600 guest rooms, including 89 suites, and offers 477,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space. The resort is designed to cater to large-scale conventions, corporate gatherings, and special events, setting a new standard for immersive meeting experiences.
Luxury Accommodations
Nestled between San Diego Bay and Chula Vista Marina, the resort’s rooms blend coastal elegance with modern comfort. Guests can choose from king or double queen rooms, with Executive Suites offering additional space and amenities. The Penthouse Presidential Suites provide 3,254 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor space, featuring private balconies with panoramic views.
Dining & Entertainment
Led by Chef Jakob Esko, the resort boasts 12 dining venues, including:
- Old Hickory Steakhouse – A refined surf & turf experience with premium steaks and seafood.
- Trēō Kitchen + Bar – Seasonal, locally sourced California cuisine.
- Growlers Sports Bar & Taproom – A lively sports bar with a 75-ft. screen.

Waterpark & Recreation
Guests can enjoy a 4.25-acre waterpark, featuring multiple pools, waterslides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. Additional amenities include the Relâche Spa & Salon, a 7,500 sq. ft. fitness center, and bicycle rentals for exploring the area.
Economic Impact
The resort is expected to generate $475 million annually for the local economy and create over 1,600 jobs. It is part of a broader 535-acre redevelopment project aimed at revitalizing the Chula Vista Bayfront.
