Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Sri Lanka’s largest hospitality brand, has announced a strategic partnership with global hospitality tech leader Cendyn to power a sweeping digital transformation across its portfolio of 17 properties. The collaboration has already delivered impressive results, including a 71% increase in website users and a measurable boost in direct bookings.
The initiative reflects Cinnamon’s commitment to evolving its digital presence from a traditional booking platform into an immersive storytelling experience. With tourism in Sri Lanka rebounding, up 10.2% year-on-year in early 2025, the timing was ideal for Cinnamon to reimagine how guests discover and engage with its destinations.
A New Era of Digital Hospitality
Cendyn’s hospitality-focused content management system (CMS) was selected for its ability to integrate 13+ technologies into a unified user experience, while amplifying Cinnamon’s refreshed brand identity. The new website showcases the diversity of Cinnamon’s offerings, from Colombo’s Ramsar wetlands to the coral gardens of the Maldives, through rich visuals, intuitive navigation, and personalised content.
“We wanted our guests to navigate the website in a simple, seamless way centred around storytelling that brings our experiences to life,” said Radhey Tawar, Chief Commercial Officer, Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts. “Cendyn helps us realise that vision by combining the best of tech and personalisation to deliver a best-in-class guest experience and drive engagement and bookings.”
Results That Matter
In addition to the 71% growth in active users, Cinnamon saw a 5% increase in conversion rates, with guests spending more time exploring the site and engaging with curated content. The transformation also supports Cinnamon’s broader commercial goals, including:
- Scalable digital performance across multiple properties
- Enhanced brand storytelling aligned with local culture and heritage
- Future-ready infrastructure to support long-term growth
Looking Ahead
As Cinnamon continues to expand its footprint across Sri Lanka and the Maldives, the partnership with Cendyn positions the brand to meet the expectations of modern travellers those seeking not just accommodation, but authentic, memorable experiences.
