Arup Banik is a distinguished leader in hospitality technology, serving as the Country Head for India & Middle East at Shiji Group, a global provider of innovative software solutions for the hospitality, food service, retail, and entertainment industries. Based in Dubai, Arup has been instrumental in driving Shiji’s growth in these key markets since joining the company in 2019, overseeing operations and strategic initiatives that empower hotels and related businesses to enhance guest experiences through cutting-edge technology.

With over two decades of experience, Arup previously held senior roles at EIH Ltd.’s Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, where he served as Deputy Vice President of Corporate IT, managing IT operations and strategic planning. His earlier career includes positions with the Taj Group and Galaxy Toyota, where he honed his expertise in IT service management, risk and compliance, and data security. Educated at the Indian School of Business, Arup combines technical proficiency with a strategic vision, making him a pivotal figure in advancing hospitality technology solutions.

At Shiji Group, Arup champions the adoption of cloud-based platforms, such as the Shiji Daylight PMS, Infrasys Cloud POS, and integrated payment solutions, to create seamless, data-driven guest experiences. His leadership has positioned Shiji as a trusted partner for over 60,000 hotels globally, including collaborations showcased at major industry events like the Marriott 2024 APAC General Managers Conference and the Hospitality Tech Leaders Forum.
